The International Society for the Study of Fatty Acids and Lipids (ISSFAL) invites all professionals interested in the health effects of dietary fats, oils, and lipids to submit abstracts to be considered for presentation at its 16th International Congress in Québec City, Canada, 29 June - 2 July 2025. Original research will be considered for oral and poster presentation to a wide audience of scientists, clinical researchers, and numerous commercial entities engaged in the field.

ONLINE ABSTRACT COLLECTION SYSTEM
The ISSFAL Congress Abstract Collection system will open in the beginning of November. The deadline to submit will be January 15, 2025.

The online abstract system is Oxford Abstracts, which was used for the 2023 Congress. If the system does not recognize your email, presenters, and/ or submitters of an abstract, will need to register as a "New User". You will need to create a User ID and Password. ISSFAL Congress Staff are available to assist, so please do not hesitate to contact us at admin@issfal.org for additional support.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

The recommended abstract length is between 200 and 300 words. Abstract titles should be short, but descriptive. Informative titles, indicating key points are encouraged. Supplemental materials (photos, articles or reports) are allowed, but please upload them in one, unified file. Please select a category that best describes your abstract’s content to the best of your ability and if the work has been presented before. Conflict of interest must be given. *If you are applying to be considered for the New Investigator Awards, please also submit a copy of your most recent CV within the form*

The presenter’s name, and information about the presenter, should be submitted. If you are submitting on behalf of the presenter, you will receive an email confirming the receipt of the abstract. Please be sure to keep the presenter and any co-authors informed.

All submittals will be reviewed by the ISSFAL Abstract Review Committee for scientific content and topical relevance to the conference.

  • Abstracts and presentations should focus on scientific and clinical evidence as would be expected for a peer-reviewed journal.

  • Abstracts deemed to be commercial for products or services will not be considered.

  • Abstracts deadline to submit is January 15, 2025.

  • Announcements of selected papers will be made by March 1st.

  • Presenters will be selected for oral or poster presentations.

  • Complete instructions for oral and/or poster presentations will be provided upon notification of an abstract’s acceptance.

  • Oral presentations are typically 10 minutes, with an additional 5 minutes of Q&A.

  • All presentations will be live in Québec City. If you cannot be at the Congress to present, please let us know.
